What is Organic Lawn Care?Organic lawn care is the process of using natural products in conjunction
with proper lawn care techniques to establish and maintain a lawn that
is free
of weed and disease problems.
How does it work? There are millions of microbes that live in your soil.
As they feed on organic matter
nutrients are made available to the grass.
As the amount of organic matter increases the amount of microbes and the
nutrients they produce increase. The more nutrients the grass receives
the healthier and stronger it grows. When you fertilize with organics, add organic amendments, top-dress with compost and leave grass clippings on your lawn, you are adding organic matter and contributing to a healthy microbe population. As your soil improves and the proper amendments are added, an ecological balance is reached and the amount of inputs needed to sustain a healthy microbe population decease, thus your need for fertilizers and other inputs decreases. This means you spend less time and money for a beautiful, healthy lawn. Why use organics fertilizers?Using organic fertilizers stimulates a healthy
microbial environment in your soil. A healthy soil system increases root
strength which lets
grass naturally defend off disease and fungus, resist drought, and
crowd out weeds. Organics are safe for the applicator, safe for the customer,
their family and their pets, and safe for the environment. Why not use synthetic fertilizers and pesticides?Using synthetic fertilizers
creates a dependence on the fertilizer leaving your lawn "addicted" and
needing multiple applications thru out the year. Pesticides add dangerous
and unnecessary health risks to
all of us and our environment.
