We always close the gate behind us so your pets don’t escape. We change our mowing pattern weekly so your lawn doesn’t suffer from unnecessary compaction. We leave all edges neat and crisp looking. We blow all hard surfaces before we leave so no debris is left. We show up when we say we will and communicate any schedule changes ASAP. We are always in a marked truck and in uniform. We have an easy, consistent and secure billing process.

We offer three mowing packages: Mowing, mowing plus beds and mowing total.

Mowing: Includes mowing edging, trimming and blowing of hard surfaces.

Mowing plus beds: Includes mowing plus weed control in the beds either my hand weeding or organic weed spray.

Mowing Total: Includes mowing, weed control in beds and pruning of bushes.

Pruning: There are several benefits to pruning. Irregular growing habits can be corrected. It can bring in an earlier bloom period. It can cause flower and fruit size to skyrocket. It also can aid in controlling disease and pests.

Pruning during the period when a plant is dormant usually results in the abundance of larger shoots during the next growing season. A lot of pruning should be discouraged, however, because if you over-prune the plant too much, no buds may even form. As such, it is a wise idea to hire an experienced landscape company for pruning plants so the right level can be achieved to maximize growth without harming plants.

Over pruning while a plant is dormant could also jump start strong shoots to grow, which cause water sprouts. These attract a variety of pests that could carry a disease from one plant to another. If you know you’ve pruned a diseased plant, clean the remaining stems with alcohol immediately after, and make sure the pruning sheers are cleaned before you move on to your next plant- otherwise, like any human disease, the plant disease will spread.

Leaf Removal/Blowing: Leaf removal is not only essential from an aesthetic perspective, but also for agronomic reasons. Although turf grass growth slows or ceases during this time of year, the plant will continue to photosynthesize (create nutrients/energy). This energy is stored to be used the following year. When leaves are left on Fescue grass, this reduces the ability to photosynthesize by shading available light. Leaf removal is most important with newly seeded lawns, since the young grass will die without light more quickly than the established turf. Leaves that remain on fescue seedlings can also increase rot conditions by creating a dark, damp climate that will smother out weaker plants. Leaf removal should be done on a regular basis (every 7 to 10 days) as opposed to waiting until all the leaves have fallen and collecting them all at once. While young grass is still around, you’re better off using a blower to remove leaves, since a rake can injure the young grass or remove seedlings from the soil. The collected leaves can be composted to make good organic matter for gardening, or they can be used as a mulch layer in natural areas.

Cleanup: This can mean anything from removing fallen trees to hand weeding and pulling poison ivy. The long growing season here in North Carolina allows for a tremendous amount of vegetative growth each year. We are happy to come in and help tame your overgrown landscape.  We take special care in making sure any desirable plants are not harmed. There’s nothing more satisfying then coming home to see your once untamed jungle of weeds, vines and plants completely eradicated so that a desirable landscape can be installed. We will not only clean your landscape up we will help you create a new landscape that is beautiful and inviting and will be the envy of your neighbors.

Mulching:Installing mulch is a good gardening habit but not mandatory; the benefits, however, make it worth the effort. A really good job of mulching your garden usually offers these benefits:

  • Inhibits weed germination and growth. Weeds are not only unsightly, but they also steal resources from desirable garden plants.
  • Holds in soil moisture, protecting your plants from drying out quickly
  • Moderates soil-temperature fluctuations. This benefit is especially valuable during that turbulent-weather period in spring when you don’t want your plants to be stressed.
  • In winter mulch protects plant roots from winter cold and helps prevent frost-heaving, in which plants are literally pushed out of the ground by the natural expansion and contraction of the soil as it cools off and heats up.
  • In the hot summer mulch helps keep plant roots cooler.
  • Depending on which kind you use, mulch adds a bit of welcome nutrition to your garden as it breaks down.
